Kanye West is making parents sign Non-Disclosure Agreements if they’re child is enrolled in his Donda Academy, just concerns about the school’s quality of education begin to circulate.
The 45-year-old rap and fashion icon, who’s also been a formidable school basketball team building of some of the best high school talent in the country, is set to open to Pre-K students through Grade 12.
TMZ reports that the school currently only has about 100 students, some of whose parents have voiced their concerns regulating the education their kids are getting at the academy.
Parents Come Forward Claiming Kanye Made Them Sign NDA’s After Complaints Of School Began To Circulate
Two of those parents have since come forward and claimed the school made them sign NDA’s, which essentially keeps them from being about to discuss the school and their kids’ education, according to a recent report by the rolling stone.
Although the NDA’s have only furthered parental concern, Tamar Andrews, a consultant for Kanye, doesn’t think it’s such a big deal, adding that “we don’t care if people know about the school” and that “there is a certain notoriety that comes with being affiliated with Donda.”
“Honestly, we don’t care if people know about the school,” Andrew said. “The people that want to come to the school are looking for a good Christian school in that area and they know that we’re there … there is also a certain notoriety that comes with being affiliated with Donda. So, I don’t know that we have to advertise, which is a blessing and a curse.”
Kanye has said that his school’s mission is to allow children to connect more with their community and their faith. The academy itself is named after Kanye’s late mother, Donda West.
Much of the curriculum appears to be centered around religion, according to the school’s website.
Academy Offers Unconventional Approach To Education: Parkour Classes, Cone Of Silence And More
The Rolling Stone reports that the school offers an unconventional approach to education.
Parkour classes, a cone of silence, and a principal with no apparent formal teaching experience, were three of the most bizarre the outlet made note of.
Earlier this month, West shared Instagram photos of students decked out in school uniforms consisting entirely of his Yeezy and Gap designs.
He has also complained about his four children not attending the school, appearing to accuse his estranged wife Kim Kardashian from preventing their kids from doing so.
The academy will also have a heavy focus on basketball, as four of the most sought after high school basketball players in the US have already been recruited and reportedly committed to attending.

The players are Jahki Howard, Jalen Hooks, Robert Dillingham and Zion Cruz, The Shade Room reported last year.
Donda Academy will reportedly feature “classrooms, labs, offices, a kitchen, restrooms, storage, a basketball court and an open field” for its students to use.”
A local news affiliate also reported that the academy will likely be located on a plot of land Kanye has been eyeing between Moorpark and Simi Valley in Los Angeles.
The mission of Donda Academy is to “prepare students to become the next generation of leaders, thinkers and innovators by providing them with a world-class education that includes a rigorous core curriculum, and an emphasis on sustainability, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving .”
Kanye had a website created for the school back in May, according to Hype Beast.
Meanwhile, Kanye has had a whirlwind last few weeks on social media, continuing beefs with Adidas, Pete Davidson and Kid Cudi. The Shade Room reported that Ye actually felt a peace offering to all three adversaries on the day Queen Elizabeth II died last week.
