Huawei has strategically scheduled its next major product launch event just hours after Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 16 series. The event, set for September 10, is expected to showcase Huawei’s new triple-folding smartphone, which could potentially mark a significant milestone in smartphone innovation.
Huawei announced the event on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, with Richard Yu, head of Huawei’s consumer electronics division, hinting at the unveiling of an “epoch-making product.” The product, which took five years of development, is believed to be a tri-fold smartphone, a first in the industry.

This move appears to be a calculated effort by Huawei to capture some of the spotlight following Apple’s highly anticipated launch. Despite facing challenges due to US sanctions, Huawei remains a dominant player in the Chinese market and aims to highlight its technological advancements, particularly in foldable phones.
In addition to the new smartphone, Huawei is also expected to introduce the M9 electric SUV under the Aito brand, further expanding its reach into the automotive sector.
The timing of Huawei’s event underscores the ongoing rivalry between the two tech giants, as they continue to vie for market leadership in an increasingly competitive global landscape.
